Andy and I drove over to the reception (well, technically Andy drove and I sat in the middle seat) after we finished taking pictures. We sat in the truck and talked for a few minutes while the remainder of our wedding party went inside. We were supposed to have a grand entrance introducing all of the wedding party, but that didn’t happen either. So Andy and I just walked in. I was halfway in the door when I realized I was still holding my sunglasses!
We went straight into hors d’ouevres. Since our reception started at 2:30 pm, we opted to not do a formal meal. My Mamaw prayed over the food before we all ate. Andy and I quickly scarfed down a sandwich or two and then began to say hello to the guests who stopped by our sweetheart table.
Immediately afterwards, we moved into our first dance. I had a hard time picking a song for this, because I wanted a slow song and Andy and I don’t really have any slow songs that are “ours.” I wanted something that we would both like. Andy suggested Scotty McCreery because I love his music, but I couldn’t find a Scotty song that I liked for our first dance. (In fact, his song Love You This Big was on my no-play list. For some reason it irks me.) The other song that describes Andy and my’s relationship is I Want Crazy by Hunter Hayes, so I looked at some other Hunter Hayes songs and found Still Fallin’. When I heard the lyrics, I knew this would be our first dance song. Andy agreed.
