One of the items on my newly-created bucket list was to visit my best friend Tory and her family at their Tennessee home. So, what better time to accomplish this than the week after
my our 20th birthday? (Did I mention my best friend shares the same birthday as my sisters and me? Totally awesome!)
I drove down on Thursday afternoon after work. After a three-and-a-half hour drive that included thunderstorms, road construction, detours, and nearly being rear-ended by an impatient SUV driver, I was relieved to arrive at their house in one piece! I pulled into her driveway and as soon as I shut my car door, Hannalore came running outside of her house, screaming with excitement. Her older sister Grace*, whom I had not met yet heard many stories about, then came outside to meet me.
We spent all of Thursday night catching up (and going to town to watch the movie Brave, which was so good it deserves a blog post of its own), and on Friday, we adventured to a nearby town to go antiquing. We enjoyed lunch at a cute little tea room before walking up and down the street while dashing into antique stores to escape the downpour. (Side note: This place even has high tea every Saturday. Grace decided she will force her boyfriend to come back and Tory and I want to go back as a special girls’ night.)
*Note: Her sister’s name is not actually Grace. In the sake of protecting her privacy, I have given her an alternate name.
