5 years ago, I was home from summer camp (where I was working as a camp counselor) and had a bit of a crisis when I realized I was already halfway through college and didn’t know exactly where the time went. I had been reading blogs for a while, and it seemed like a fun way to share my life with others plus record my college memories, so the night before my 20th birthday, Becoming Bailey was born!
I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for five years now! What started out as an online journal for me developed into a hobby and, eventually, a small source of income for me! I’ve made so many friends through this space on the web and it has changed my life for the better! The neatest thing about blogging is being able to share my and Andy’s lives with our families since we now live so far away from them, and to record memories for our future children and grandchildren to read someday. As is tradition for me every year, I wanted to share my favorite blog posts of the past year.
This post was incredibly difficult to write, probably the hardest post I’ve ever written in my entire life! I really hope that by sharing my story, I can help someone else who was in that same situation.
I shared this short-but-sweet post on our first anniversary. I haven’t quite gotten around to blogging about our anniversary trip to Cumberland Falls, yet though! (I will once the move craziness settles down!)
Andy’s grandma passed away this March and I was honored to write about some of the life lessons and the legacy she left behind.
Iowa was definitely not a place I ever imagined living, so when Andy first received orders to Recruiting school and then we found out we would be moving to Iowa, I was less-than-thrilled. Now that time has passed, I am mostly optimistic about this opportunity. I wrote these posts about some of the good things that will come from this new, unexpected adventure.
This was a fun one for me because it’s my first year as a military spouse! 🙂
This was a sponsored post I wrote about Hyperbiotics through Weave Made Media. I actually really loved this post, because using probiotics has changed my life for the better! In fact, I just placed another order for my Hyperbiotics this week.
This post was in celebration of us paying off our Discover card. Maybe it’s not the post per say, but the story behind the post that I love!
After 7 months of job searching since moving after the wedding, I finally landed a job! It wasn’t my ideal job, but it was a blessing to be able to make the extra income to pay off our debt.
These posts were about the 3 weeks Andy spent at Air Assault school in November and what I was up to while he was gone. That was our first real Army separation and it was a challenge, but I made it through! 🙂
Celebrating Andy’s birthday was such a fun memory for us both!
No, we weren’t expecting a baby…. we adopted a puppy! Lily has been such a joy in our lives and I love having her as part of our family!
This post was written after a few experiences I had as a newlywed spouse where I felt like I didn’t matter.
Though we were wed a few weeks before the 4th birthday of my blog, it took me a while to finally write about the wedding and honeymoon! I still love reading them 🙂
What was your favorite Becoming Bailey post of the last year?
