I can’t believe it has been one year since our wedding day. What a year it has been! If you had told me 25 months and 1 day ago, when I first messaged you on OkCupid, that a little over two years later we would be married and preparing for our first military move together, I would have thought you were insane! And well, maybe we both are! When we first talked about marriage, just four months after “meeting” online, people thought we had lost our minds. When we got engaged just 7 months later, they told us so. But we determined that we would make it work, and we have.
We have had some really high high’s– lots of traveling, date nights, and laughter– and some low low’s– losing Grandma Cummins, my health struggles, a few financial issues– this year. Through all of it, it makes me even more grateful for you. You held my hair back when I was vomiting from my stomach problems, squeezed me tightly when I cried due to my depression, and celebrated with me when I finally got a job and achieved goals I had set for my blog.
We are a team, and though I already knew that, it became even more clear to me when you laid out a plan for me to go back to college for a second Bachelor’s degree and helped me map out a career plan. You’ve fought for me and been a source of optimism when I was weak. I’ve watched you pray and cry for me and I can’t help but think that I am so blessed to have you as my forever partner. I am so, so thankful that God gave me you and will be with you every step of the way.
Happy one year, my love. One year down, forever to go.
