This month I’m back with another round of “What I’m Watching.” Here’s what’s been occupying me in May!
90 Minutes in Heaven
I picked up this movie with a Redbox discount code on a whim. The movie tells the story of Don Piper, who died in a car crash and 90 minutes later, came back to life. In that 90 minute span, Don supposedly went to heaven and back. I honestly didn’t like the movie– it was kinda boring, to be honest– and I ended up keeping the movie as background noise on while I played on my laptop. I don’t know the validity of the “heaven tourism” stories, so I’m not judging this movie based on that fact, but overall the movie was boring. Don’t waste your time.
I had a free Redbox code, so I picked up this movie over Memorial Day weekend. I had heard rave reviews about it, so I was intrigued to see it for myself. This movie tells the true story of a football team in Alabama that was struggling to adjust to desegregation. A sports chaplain speaks to the team and soon almost the whole team dedicates their lives to Jesus. It eventually spreads throughout the school and neighboring schools. I wasn’t really into the first half of the movie– it reminded me so much of Remember the Titans (which Andy has never seen before!) The second half of the movie was better, focusing on how Jesus changed the football team and community. Overall, it was a pretty good movie.
Young and Hungry: Season 3
My sister, Brandi, got me hooked on Young and Hungry. Since the end of Season 2, I’ve been anxiously awaiting Season 3’s arrival on Netflix. This show is on my Netflix list, and for good reason– it’s one of my favorites. Season 3 did not disappoint! This show always has me laughing out loud. I won’t spoil it for anyone who may want to watch the show, but the season finale had me begging for Season 4.
