It’s been a while since I shared about my jobs, so I figured I’d give an update.
I’ve been attending a lot of work trainings. In the past month alone, I’ve been to an Administrative Assistants seminar and a Communication Skills for women seminar. It’s hard to miss an entire day of work because I have to catch back up when I return, but I feel like I’m getting a lot out of these seminars. Talking to other administrative assistants assured me that the stress I’m feeling isn’t uncommon. The Communication Skills seminar helped me to communicate better with my team at my day job and customers (at LifeWay.)
And as an aside, when I attend work trainings they’ll pay for my lunch. I splurge and go to Chick-fil-A and El Toribio 🙂
I really struggled with my full-time HR job the first 6 months. It took a while to adjust to my team and duties, not to mention we were short-staffed. At the beginning of March, it was like a lightbulb went off. I finally feel like I’m doing great and I don’t feel depressed or anything. I really struggled with working all day for the longest time, but I finally feel like I’m doing great with it. I try to break up my day into the morning and afternoon instead of thinking of a full 8 hour day.
Of course, I still make mistakes, but not super major ones. Many of my mistakes were attributed to just being so new to the workforce.
The same goes for my job at LifeWay. We have a new girl, Beth, and helping teach her the LifeWay Ways has been a good experience for me. It’s showed me how much I’ve learned since I started there 5 months ago.
I’m loving both of my jobs and so blessed to have them 🙂
