6 years ago, I was home for a break in between summer camp sessions and found myself panicking that I was halfway through college, but had no idea what I had been doing with my life. I started this blog the day before my 20th birthday and immediately began recording thoughts and memories.
As is customary for every blog birthday, I’m sharing some of my favorite posts over the past year and why they are my favorites. Technically, Becoming Bailey‘s official birthday is July 1st, but I’m celebrating a few days early 😉
Why I’m Going Back for a Bachelor’s Degree (Even Though I Already Have One) My decision to go to college for a second Bachelor’s instead of immediately jumping into a Master’s is one that most people didn’t agree with. I’m still incredibly happy with this decision and know it was the right one for me.
Why I’m Attending Liberty University for My Second Bachelor’s Degree I had initially planned to pursue my second Bachelor’s through my alma mater, but I changed my mind for various reasons. I couldn’t be happier with my decision!
9 Questions for a Fulfilling Life This post was born from an inspirational conversation between Andy and me about what we want our lives to look like.
2018 New Year’s Resolutions & Bible Verse of 2018 Keeping with tradition, I mapped out my New Year’s Resolutions/Goals as well as picked a Bible verse as my “theme” for the year.
We’re debt free!!! I’ve spent the last 3.5 years chronicling my journey to debt freedom, so I was thrilled to (finally) share that I’m out of debt for good!
Post-Debt Snowball Financial Goals Even though our journey out of debt is over, we’re still pursuing financial goals.
Why I Stopped Writing Financial Blog Posts I had been criticized a few times on my blog for writing financial content, so I especially enjoyed sharing my heart behind the computer screen. I wholeheartedly believe everyone has something (positive) to contribute and I refuse to let the critics stop me!
My Experience at the 2017 Military Influencer Conference This was my first blogging conference, and I had such a wonderful time! Sadly, I have some work conflicts, so I’m not able to attend this year’s conference, but I look forward to attending future Military Influencer Conferences!
8 Blogging Resources for Beginners Blogging has been such a fun part of my life these past 6 years, so I decided to share some resources that would have been helpful when I first started!
Despite living 700 miles away, my family is still a significant part of my life. I travel home every chance I get! Here are some posts about recent trips home and some of my favorite family memories.
Although both Andy and I have busier work schedules than ever before, we are taking advantage of living in the Midwest by traveling whenever we get the chance!
Life in Iowa:
These posts are all a reminder of how I’m settling into life in rural Iowa. It wasn’t my plan to move here, but I can see God at work.
Military Spouse Appreciation Day This post was inspired by a conversation I had with Andy’s battle buddy’s girlfriend.
When a Battle Buddy Visits Iowa Speaking of battle buddies, Andy’s friend came to visit us in rural Iowa on the snowiest weekend this spring!
A Look at a DITY PCS Budget I wrote numerous posts about our move to Iowa last summer, but this post is probably my favorite because I would have found it helpful when we were preparing for our move. We were those crazy people who decided to move all of our belongings ourselves instead of letting the Army take care of it. Also, I’ll appreciate this post when it comes time to move in 2 years!
How a Credit Card Gave Us a Spontaneous Overnight Date When I was stressed up to my eyeballs, Andy decided to surprise me by getting us out of town for the night. It was mostly free, too!
To My Husband, On Our Second Wedding Anniversary Year Two of marriage is in the books, and per tradition, I wrote a letter to my husband recapping the past year.
I look forward to see what posts I’ll write in this upcoming year!
