Many of you know that my husband has been diligently working on his Associate’s degree for the past 3 years. Through TDYs, PCSes, assignments as the company Master Driver and in Headquarters, Recruiting duty, and everything else that his full-time military job requires, he’s continued to pursue his degree. After a long, long, LONG time, he has finally earned his degree! I am so incredibly proud of him and his hard work.
We wanted to celebrate Andy’s success with family and friends, but living so far away meant throwing a party or attending the graduation ceremony isn’t an option for us. So, we opted to mail out graduation announcements instead! We chose to use Basic Invite for the graduation announcements, which was an excellent choice. Their website was straightforward to navigate, and I could not be more pleased with how easy the process was from start to finish.
Basic Invite is one of a few websites that allows you to customize the back of your card. If you remember my Christmas cards from last year, I had the most difficult time finding a website that would allow me to customize the back of the card. I was thrilled to learn Basic Invite has this feature! Since so few of our family/friends know what “the next step” is for Andy, we included that information on the back. (In case you were wondering what comes next, Andy will be taking a break from classes while he finishes his Recruiting assignment. He is applying for the competitive Army Green to Gold program that would allow him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree while receiving full-time Army pay and then commission as an active-duty officer. If accepted, we anticipate moving in Summer 2020.)
Speaking of how easy this entire process was, Basic Invite offers an address capturing service that allows customers to share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request their friends and family’s addresses. The addresses are stored in the customer’s account and can then be selected during the design process. On all Christmas card orders, Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost. (No more keeping a list of everyone’s addresses!)
While shopping on Basic Invite, I realized I needed new business cards for my blog. I wasn’t quite sure what design I would like best, so instead of placing a bulk order of 100 (like I did with my last business cards), I ordered a sample. Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to request a printed sample — which I loved because I could see exactly how the finished product would appear!
(I had to hide my phone number!)
Once Andy’s graduation announcements arrived, mailing them was a breeze since the envelopes were peel-and-seal. As CSO (chief stationery officer) of our household, I am thrilled that licking the envelope is now a thing of the past.
Thank you, Basic Invite, for helping us celebrate my husband’s hard-earned college graduation! I look forward to ordering Christmas cards in just a few months.
