I haven’t mentioned it on the blog, but Andy and I moved into our new on-base house a few weeks ago. We LOVE it! I’ll share more about it in the coming weeks as we get settled in, but I do want to share about one of my favorite areas to decorate– Gracie’s corner. Yes, that’s right, my kitty is finally living with my husband and me!!! We are so overjoyed to have our favorite fluffball in our house to keep us– well, mostly me– company.

Gracie on move-in day.
To help her settle into her new house, I decided to make a corner of our laundry room especially for Gracie. Our laundry room has this awkward alcove, which turned out to be perfect for all of her things! I showed her where her litter box and food dish was and she was set. I wanted to make this space cute and homey, like she’s a true member of the family (because she is!) so I decorated it with a cute piece of artwork my brother-in-law gave me for Christmas. I also made Gracie her own placemat because I didn’t want her food and water splashing all over the floor. Plus, it makes for a fun pop of color! I love Gracie’s little corner and I know she does too!
Gracie’s placemat was super simple to make– in fact, I feel kinda silly for giving you instructions. Nonetheless, here’s my tutorial on a DIY Placemat for Your Cat.
Piece of cardboard
1. Cut your cardboard to size, if it isn’t already. Mine was so I skipped this step.
2. Wrap one side of your cardboard in wrapping paper.
Voila! A super simple and inexpensive DIY Placemat that your kitty is sure to love. Gracie loves hers!
When I was picking up Gracie from my mom’s house, Andy and I both realized something: the cats are getting overfed. Andy pointed out that every single time he’s been at my mom’s house, there is always food in the dish, and if there’s not, my mom is getting up to feed them. Frankie and Baby are a bit overweight, and when we brought Gracie to our new home, we realized she’s chunking up too.
Andy and I were trying to decide how to fix Gracie’s overeating problem when we discovered SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™. We were walking down the cat food aisle at Walmart and noticed the SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS ™ Multipack Chicken Entrée and Turkey Entrée Wet Cat Food on the shelf. “Hey honey, this would be perfect for Gracie!” We also picked up the SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™ Cuts in Gravy Signature Tuna Entrée since Gracie loves tuna. She loves SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™, especially the tuna flavor! I love that they’re the perfect portion size and help us to keep from overfeeding her.
For fun, we also picked up some SHEBA® Meaty Tender Sticks Cat Treats. Made with real meat and no artificial flavors, they’re savory snacks that will keep your cat meowing for more. And meowing Gracie did! She noticed my box of cat treats on the counter, and anytime I got close to them, she’d rub my legs and meow up a storm!
With SHEBA®, I feel confident that Gracie is getting the nutrition she needs with a taste that she loves. Check out this link for more inspiration on how to incorporate SHEBA® into your cat’s diet.
