I received so much wonderful support from yesterday’s post, and for that I am truly grateful. But there’s one person who sticks out in my mind, who ruined all of the happiness about “my” little girl Veronica Sarah.
When I shared my Compassion story with my Facebook friends, she commented and said, “What about the people here?”
God commands us to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:16-20), not just America. Yes, we do need to share the gospel here, but it needs to be shared everywhere. I don’t get to pick and choose who I share the gospel to.
I teach Sunday school to 4th and 5th grade girls, I give to my church’s food pantry, I give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to support missionaries in North America, and I plan to mentor a little girl starting in August (once my commitment to my Sunday school class is up.) I’ve been on a mission trip to Nashville and I’m going on a mission trip to Indianapolis this summer.
The irony? This person makes, oh about two or three times as much money as I do, yet she doesn’t give a dime to help the needy nor does she go to church.
