The past two months have flown by! I had so much fun spending time with family and friends as we count down to the move. Here’s a look at what fun things we were up to in April & May.
My friend Julie is getting married this weekend! I held a mini-bachelorette party for her at Fort Knox in April. We made personalized door hangers with help from Jacquelyn from First Impressions Market. She’s a fellow military spouse who hosts in-home painting parties, so Fort Knox friends, check her out! (This is not sponsored.)
At the party, I got to hang out with this cutie (my friend Stephanie’s daughter.) She almost makes me want a baby of my own. Almost 😉 Until then I’ll just hang out with my friend’s babies!
Andy and I visited Camp Pennyroyal, the summer camp where I worked in 2012, for Open Hike Day. It was so neat showing Andy around the place that made a major impact in my life, and the place where we almost got married! We took Lily-pup with us for the hike, and she enjoyed a swim in Pennyroyal Lake when she jumped in on her own, still on the leash and everything!
Speaking of Lily, she is afraid of “Ghost Andy.” She howled, growled, and barked at Andy with a sheet on his head!
Andy, the perfect blogger husband! 😛
I FaceTimed Brandi and Mamaw was there. Bless her heart, trying to teach Mamaw how FaceTime works!
My husband accidentally wore ACU’s for Recruiting School class picture day, so…. for once, I can spot him in the photo!
Andy and I went on an impromptu date one Friday night. We stopped by Little Caesar’s for a Hot-N-Ready pizza and crazy bread, bought a large soda, and drove over to Douglas Lake (on post at Fort Knox) to sit in our car and stare at the lake. It was lovely! On our way home, Andy saved a turtle that was attempting to cross the road, and the little bugger peed on him! Then, we took the long way home and passed the buzz of excitement around Knox with the upcoming trainings– the tents were up for Cadet Summer Training, we passed some Abrams tanks and saw some Strykers on the move! I love living on Fort Knox.
Andy and I bought season passes to Kentucky Kingdom (an amusement and water park in Louisville) before we found out about our move to Iowa this July, so we put them to good use one afternoon!
My favorite way to spend a weekend!
Andy and I went home to Owensboro for the BBQ Festival and Mother’s Day. We got our share of good food, visited Smothers Park (where we were married 11 months ago!), and went to lunch with Mom and Mamaw.
I got to meet up with Alex from Munchkins and Military. I forgot to take a photo, but it was so great meeting her and her adorable daughters!
What have you been up to lately?
