I’m currently reading “Interrupted” by Jen Hatmaker, and wow, is this book convicting me. I complain all the time about being “poor” but my income, as meager as it may be, puts me in the top 4% of the world’s earners. I’m one of 6.7% of the world with a college degree.
It’s sickening how much money I spend on myself, like buying books at LifeWay -cough-, but then I say “Sorry God, I don’t have money to help others.” I don’t want to have to face God at the end of my life and tell Him, “Sorry you gave me this ‘wealth’ and I did nothing with it to further Your kingdom.”
That’s why I’ve decided to sponsor a Compassion child. Meet Veronica Sarah. She’s 6 years old and lives in the Philippines. When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher (just like I wanted to be when I was a little girl!) Veronica Sarah shares my birthday, July 2nd. I hope that God can use me to bless this little girl halfway around the world.
