I’m excited to share about a new linkup called The Military Minute, with Missy from Loving Life Moore. When Missy originally asked me if I would be interested in collaborating with her to host The Military Minute, I was initially a bit hesitant. I’ve been a military spouse for just 3 years, and my military life journey has been a bit different than the norm (no deployments yet, only one PCS, and we’ve spent 2 of the past 3 years living in a civilian town away from base.) “Seasoned,” I am not. Still, I’ve learned a thing or two that I hope to share with others. At the very least, I hope that with The Military Minute, those who may be new to military life or in need of community can find the wisdom and connections they are seeking.
As I first adjusted to military life, it was incredibly overwhelming and lonely. I didn’t know who to turn to for advice in-person, but thankfully I already knew a few military spouse bloggers (as I had been blogging for 4 years by that point.) Their information was critical then, and honestly, just as helpful now.
The Military Minute will be a once-a-month linkup in which military lifestyle bloggers can link up and weigh in on the month’s newest question. So, what do you need to know to participate?
- The Military Minute is inclusive! Whether you’re a novice spouse, an active duty blogger, a girlfriend, a boyfriend, or anywhere in between, we want you and want to hear what you have to say.
- Each month’s prompt will be posted the first Thursday of the month, except this month 😉
- Each month’s linkup will take place on the final Thursday of the month. Link us up directly to your post so we can see what you have to say and find a greater connection within this community!
- Linkups will be posted on both Loving Life Moore and Becoming Bailey, so link up wherever you’d like!
Here’s The Military Minute June prompt:
Where was your first duty station, and what are your best tips for adjusting to a new place?
I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s responses on the last Thursday of this month! That’s June 27th, if you’re like me and need a concrete date to put in your planner 😉
