As is customary around these parts, we’re halfway through the week… so what better way to celebrate Hump Day than recap last weekend?
I woke up at 5 am on Friday morning to get ready for Andy’s promotion ceremony. I actually woke up a full hour before my alarm, and it’s a good thing I did, because I underestimated how long it would take to do my hair! (It was my first time using my new Curl Secret and I really liked it.) After going through the drive-thru at McDonald’s, I was on my way to Knox. When I was well over an hour from home, I realized I left my digital camera at home. I almost cried. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to turn around, so I had to make due with my iPhone.
I’ll recap the ceremony at a later date (I’m waiting for the PAO to upload her photos), but below is a sneak peek.
After breakfast, we took a nap because what better way to spend a lazy Saturday morning? The timing worked out perfectly, because by the time we woke up we were hungry enough for a late lunch. Andy had overheard a few soldiers talking about a Louisville restaurant called Mussel & Burger Bar, so we decided to check the place out. It was really interesting and a nice change of pace from our normal chain-restaurant meals. The burgers were delicious, and so were their French fries. If I were a good food/travel blogger, I’d dedicate an entire post to this place.
