I won’t pretend to describe all the cool tricks the pilots were doing, loop-de-loops and twirls and stuff. Instead, I’ll just show off some photos.
It was the first time the Thunderbirds had been in Owensboro in 40 years! Plane #1 flew in memory of two Owensboro soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan, Sgt. Michael Cable and Spc. Brandon Mullins.
I didn’t really watch much of Sunday’s air show, because I wanted to get some chores done around the house, but I did enjoy complain at the sound of jets overhead on Sunday. I had been up since 6:30 am and just wanted to take a stinkin’ nap! But hey, it’s a small price to pay for the sound of freedom.
